TOSCA: A new Dementia Friendly Performance by Scottish Opera

Glasgow Memory Clinic work closely with Scottish Opera for their Dementia Friendly Performances and have previously been the corporate sponsor of Scottish Opera’s Memory Spinners.

This year, Scottish Opera have announced TOSCA for their next dementia-friendly performance.

 

TOSCA is a fully-staged version of the show, specially created for those who would enjoy a more relaxed opera experience. A narrator, The Orchestra of Scottish Opera and a full cast of singers will lead you through
a shortened version of Tosca, including some of its best-loved music.

 

About Tosca

Packed with passion and drama, and some spectacular music, Tosca is one of the world’s favourite operas!

Floria Tosca – a smart and passionate woman – attempts to free her lover from the clutches of Baron Scarpia, the lecherous, power-mad Chief of Police. As the stakes get higher she is faced with an impossible choice – will her hopes be crushed, or can love win out?
Director Anthony Besch’s shadowy setting and Peter Rice’s sumptuous designs provide a spectacular backdrop for this much-loved production.
